I'm an Associate Professor of Linguistics and Director of the Bridge Program and TESOL Certificate Program in the Department of English at the University of Michigan-Flint.

A little about me: I received my PhD from the University of California, Davis. I teach courses in linguistics, second language acquisition, TESOL, and ESL. My research interests are ESL program development, language policy and planning, immigration and refugee policies, citizenship, health literacy, and community-based participatory research for action. I am also on the board of two non-profit organizations in Flint: Genesee County Hispanic/Latino Collaborative and the International Center of Greater Flint.
